Summary: The Group/Sales Manager will organize and lead the school component of Searchmont Resort’s 2021-2022 outreach program. The outreach program’s goal is to promote awareness of and participation in outdoor winter sports at Searchmont Resort. The Group/Sales Manager will also assist with the coordination and implementation of Searchmont Resort community outreach events (including corporate and other sports groups) and with school group visits to Searchmont during the winter months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include the following. Additional or other duties may be assigned.
1. The Group/Sales Manager will develop and implement the in-school activation program in collaboration with the program partner: contact and schedule school visits and attend each school visit
2. Prepare and distribute communication and promotional materials to support the program
3. Prepare and distribute teacher information package for school group booking
4. Maintain appropriate records and complete ongoing program reporting
5. Assist with the planning and implementation of Searchmont community outreach events, including phone and e-mail contact to organizations within Sault Ste. Marie as well as out of the area and attend local groups for presentation when necessary
6. Assist with school group/groups visits to Searchmont during the winter months.
7. Interact with customers in a congenial and professional manner. Maintain pleasant and professional telephone manner at all times. Handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.

Any and all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of snow school instructors in order to properly co-ordinate with groups for their lesson component of their package.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Social media experience an asset.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must be available to work during the week and weekends
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Summary: Complete the brushing of grass and small trees on the slopes and surrounding area in preparation of snowmaking/snowfall to create a professional, skiable base for the season.

Classification: Full-time

Wage: 15/hour

Contract: 6 weeks with possibility of extension

Additional Duties:  Gas-powered grass trimmer, telephones, two-way radios

Safety equipment mandatory; steel toe boots, safety helmet, work gloves, eye protection, ear protection.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None


  • Grade 12 diploma preferred
  • Familiarity with the ski or hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated experience and capability
  • Demonstrated quality written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights and weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
  • Valid driver’s license and possess driving record that meets company safety policies and guidelines.

Working Conditions:

  • Communicates with other crew members about work progress and safety. Requires all-weather clothing, physical-fitness, and hiking the often steep terrain, climbing over downed brush while carrying a tool. Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.  May be exposed to inclement weather.  Injury may occur as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
  • Condition of grass trimmer; maintain gas, cleanliness.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with arms and hands; climb or balance and talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
